Admission & Form I-20 Application Process

Students may start their applications as early as 120 days before the semester begins.

Step 1: Apply to TCC

1. Apply for Admission at TCC
2. Submit all previous transcripts to TCC

3. If English is not your official language at the time of high school graduation, you need to take an English proficiency test
    

   College Level Eligibility for English Proficiency Testing

   TCC Institutional TOEFL	500 or above
   IBT TOEFL	61 or above
   IELTS	5.5 or above
   PTE Academic	44 or above
   iTEP Academic	3.5 or above

Step 2: Request your Initial I-20

I-20 Application Process ( F-1 VISA)

Students on an F-1 Student visa are citizens of a country other than the United States and who intend to return to their home country upon completion of their educational program. 

To apply for an F-1 visa to study in the United States, the following is required:

• Admission to a SEVP-approved institution
• English proficiency
• Sufficient funds

Students may request their I-20 after they have been admitted to TCC and issued their school ID number.

1. Submit completed TCC Form I-20 to iss@tulsacc.edu. 
   Note: Download the form before filling it out. Then save the file. 
2. Once the TCC FORM I-20, along with appropriate documents, is submitted, your initial I-20 Certificate of Eligibility will be emailed, along with your admission letter. You can then begin the process of applying for your F-1 Student visa.

Step 3: Apply for the F-1 VISA

1. Pay your I-901 SEVIS fee, required before your visa interview.
2. Complete the Form DS-160 Online Visa Application (This takes approximately 90 minutes)
   Note: You will need a photo that meets the United States VISA Photo Requirements.
3. Schedule Your Interview with the U.S. Consulate 
   Note: The U.S. Embassy or Consulate does not schedule an appointment for you.) Visit the U.S. Embassy or Consulate website, in your home country for country-specific instructions.)

Step 4: Arrival in the U.S. & Enrollment at TCC

You cannot begin the enrollment process until you have checked in with the International Student Services office.

1. Upon receiving your F-1 Visa, email us at iss@tulsacc.edu with the date of your arrival and copy of your Visa. Then we will schedule your check-in with the International Student Services office.
2. When you enter the U.S., show the immigration officer:
   • Your Form I-20.
   • Your passport with a valid F-1 VISA.
3. After arriving in Tulsa, Oklahoma, within one business day:
   You will need to bring your:
   1. Form I-20
   2. Passport with a valid F-1 Visa
